Thrummed Mittens by Tanis Lavallée
Tanis Lavallée of Tanis Fiber Arts posted a free Thrummed Mittens pattern to Ravelry this week and, just like that, something else was added to my ever-growing queue. Apparently, these are the warmest mittens you can knit and this cold snap has me on a mission to retire my fingerless gloves in favour of something a little more effective, shall we say. Tanis’s pattern calls for 1 skein of Green Label Aran Weight yarn and approximately 50g of a complementary colour of Blue Faced Leicester (BFL) roving. Tanis will be posting a limited number of kits to her Etsy shop on Monday, December 3rd but they will likely go fast. Alternatively, you can come in to the store and build your own kits with our full range of TFA Green Label colourways and BFL or Corriedale Wool Top roving. I’m casting on with the Green Label in Charcoal combined with BFL roving in natural and hope to have these finished ASAP!
For those who have never thrummed before, Tanis references this great “How to Thrum” tutorial. Easy-peasy 😉
