We have three more workshops scheduled in July before we take a break in the course schedule until September. Still a few spots left! See descriptions below…
Laura Nelkin Beaded Jewelery
July 7th, 9:00am – 12:00pm
Laura Nelkin is a talented designer who incorporates beads into many of her knitting designs. In this knitted jewelry class, you will make your selection from our collection of Laura’s kits which includes a variety of necklace, bracelet, and earring styles, and then be guided through several techniques as you string your beads and knit your piece. Be sure to bring your circulars and DPNs in sizes ranging from 2.5 mm to 3.75 mm to avoid having to purchase additional needles (sizes needed differ across kits). Better yet, come in a few days before the class and pre-select your kit and determine your required needle size for the workshop.
July 14th, 9:00am – 12:00pm
Come and discover the joys of wet felting with an easy and pleasing project. Felted soaps are not only beautiful, they are also exfoliating. In this workshop, you will learn the basics of wet felting and how to embellish the felted soaps with needle felting techniques. Roving and soaps will be available for purchase in store but if you have a favorite bar of soap or have allergies to certain soaps, please bring your own.
July 21st, 9:00am – 12:00pm
Have you stayed away from some knitting projects because it asked for crocheted edgings? You know how to work basic crochet stitches? Come and join us for this workshop. You will learn a few different types of edgings as well as tips and tricks that should allow you to add nice finishing touches to your projects. For this class you will need to bring two or three knit or crochet squares or rectangles (at least 7 by 4 inches each) so that you have something to work the edgings on.
Classes are $42 plus materials.
