Free pattern Friday: Barn Swallow Socks

(Photo: Little Church Knits)

A lovely and challenging pattern for the motivated sock knitter this week from Little Church Knits!

From the designer: “Inspired by early American quilts, Barn Swallow Socks reflect a vintage, heirloom look. The simple moss diamonds are reminiscent of antique patchwork while the swallow-tail lace side panels mimic the intricate embroidery of many log cabin quilts. These elegantly rustic socks are worked in Qunice & Co. Tern, a gentle blend of tussah silk and pure wool that produces delicate stitch definition with an aged, laundered appearance. These top-down socks are worked in the round in your preferred method and feature a patterned, short-row heel. This pattern is offered in both charted and written form and in three sizes.”

All sizes require 2 skeins of Quince & Co. Tern.

Shop / browse Tern online.

Wow, absolutely gorgeous! I’m knitting a sweater right now with similar lace detail, and I think I’ll now have to make these socks to go with it!

Beautiful socks. I really love how the delicate pattern flows smoothly into the heel flap. Can’t wait to start this pair.
